Summary
Analyze, design, and promote the development of new global capabilities for data management and analysis by creating roadmaps for the future state of data and artificial intelligence-focused platforms. Provide technical direction with a focus on sustainability and resilience to a portfolio of more than 100 projects per year, ensuring proper management of technological debt and leveraging current data capabilities globally. Preserve and increase data trust for effective decision-making.
Core responsibilities
- Design and communicate the data architecture and AI (Artificial Intelligence) maturity model, focused on Arca Continental’s strategic processes, promoting global standardization.
- Ensure and facilitate the adoption of data and AI architecture strategy/guidelines (scalability, governance, and sustainability) within IT projects.
- Research, evaluate, and propose continuous improvement processes, using emerging technologies (use cases, gap analysis and roadmaps) enabling innovative, user-centered solutions.
- Design and implement data and AI solutions for internal initiatives or as support for various business projects.
- Ensure the effective operation of data processes, solutions (integration, storage, visualization, metadata, quality, and management) and AI (weak, generative, symbolic, connectionist, evolutionary, etc.), in accordance with established standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, staying up-to-date on the latest tech trends in data and AI, actively looking to share the knowledge across the organization.
Qualifications and requirements
- Minimum education: IT Engineering or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Informatics, or related.
- Advanced English and Spanish is a MUST.
- 2 or more years of experience in design, implementation or management of data and AI Solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, MS Azure AI/Fabric, MDM, Metadata Management [Catalog/Data Lineage], Data Governance, Quality, Security, Integration, or Storage).
- General knowledge of data models and core functionalities of SAP ERPs (e.g. ECC, S/4 HANA or Rise).
- Solid experience leading or working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Solid ability to translate complex ideas into simple models, communication, and execution.
- Ability to remain unbiased (agnostic) toward specific technologies or vendors.
- Must be a self-starter and work with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of data-focused, process modeling, and AI frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, ISO/IEC 8000, DCAM – Data Management Capability Assessment Model, BPMN 2.0, CRISP-DM, etc.).
Desired characteristics
- Solid understanding of Project Management and Agile frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of data and AI platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, MS Fabric, MS Azure AI, Semarchy, etc.).
- Intermediate knowledge of cloud computing architectures (e.g., MS Azure, AWS, BigQuery, etc.).
- Intermediate knowledge of process modeling tools (e.g., SAP Signavio, Bizagi, Lucidchart, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., MS Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of data integration tools: ETL (Extract, Transform & Load), ESB (Enterprise Service Bus), ESP (Event Stream Processing), etc. (e.g., SAP BTP [e.g., Datasphere], MS Azure Data Factory, Mulesoft, Snowflake Pipelines, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD orchestration tools: DBT Cloud, Dagster+, Airflow, Azure DevOps, etc.
- Basic understanding of data catalog/metadata solutions (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Atlan, TIBCO EBX, etc.).
- Basic understanding of one or two programming languages (e.g., Python, Terraform, MS SQL, R, ABAP, Java, JavaScript, etc.).
- A master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., CDMP Fundamentals, MDQM, Azure Data Fundamentals/Engineer, SnowPro Core, TOGAF, COBIT5, SAP MM, etc.).
